House Prices are expected to fall again next year, spelling more doom and gloom for estate agents. But maybe this is a good time to get in on the estate agent market! What? Why? When? How? – Ok, think about it, traditional estate agents need premises to operate from, staff to run the office etc etc – nowadays, all you need is a website, some good estate agent software and a it of marketing acumen, and you’re off!

Over 80% of houses are searched for online, a majority of these on the massive property portal called RightMove. So with that statistic ringing in your ears, is it so necessary to also have a high street presence?

Of course it would help, and there is a set of people who would still want a face to face service, or at least have the security of knowing there was someone they could physically go and see – but the new generation of house sellers and buyers are internet savvy. They like to transact on the internet – for an experienced online marketer, this could be just the opportunity.

There is no barrier to entry to being an estate agent, if you are a good sales person, the chances are, you’ll make money. So if you can get a good website built, invest in the right software and you can market online, there is nothing stopping you being the next estate agent millionaire. Establish your brand now, and when the market returns, as it surely will, you could be sitting in a very comfortable position.
